Comprehensive Introduction to Movie-Making
This is a lecture based 10-week class designed for beginners or those with some experience who need brushing-up or to get reinvigorated. Guaranteed to inform and energize. Instructor: Rick Palidwor

Writing a Short Screenplay
In this 12-week class participants are offered a comprehensive hands-on approach to all writing elements of the short film, elements that can be applied to long-form screenplays and other creative writing. The environment of mutual support will encourage writers to find their stories fullest potential. Instructor: Ross McKie

Directing Narrative Drama
An introduction to directing dramatic narrative movies. This course will be primarily theory based but will rely heavily on screenings and script analysis in conjunction with some practical shooting and blocking examples. Instructor: Ian Thompson

Directing Documentaries
This course will cover all the main aspects of being a documentary director and includes practical examples of lighting and interview techniques. Students are encouraged to have at least one idea that they will be willing to pitch for the course. Instructor: Ian Thompson

Editing Concepts and Theories
This 4-week class examines the visual language of film editing. Whatever the genre ? fiction, documentary, short film, music video, experimental ? through screenings and discussions lead by a working editor, this class explores how editing can guide an audience through a story, imposing the desired thoughts and feelings. Practical Movie-Making for Educators
Students will engage in one or more hands-on shooting and editing exercises each day, expertly guided and designed to impart the most fundamental skills needed to make a movie: techniques of pictorial continuity, finding the best frame, and simple sound solutions. Students can leave the workshop with 3 completed shooting exercises in hand and the exercises can be easily replicated. Recommended for educators wishing to teach movie-making in their own classrooms and anyone else simply needing some practical hands-on experience. Instructors: Rick Palidwor and Dagny Thompson

Practical Movie-Making to Document Field Work
